This sculpture park is located at the City Dock in Annapolis, MD. Kunta Kinte was the first slave sold at the city dock of Annapolis. Alex Halley, who is seen here reading to the children, is the author of the book Roots, which tells the life story of this slave.

Africa In Blue was hung at the Marion Warren Gallery in Annapolis, MD for the Maryland Federation of Arts fundraiser December 2009.
It was also hung at the Arundel Center, in Annapolis, MD for the month of March 2010. This was a juried exhibit done in celebration of Women's Art: Women Vision, in partnership with the Anne Arundel County Commission for Women and the Arts Council of Anne Arundel County.

Grandma's Attic was accepted to the Patuxent Art League juried exhibit, December 2009. It was hung at the Monteplier Arts Center in Laurel, MD.
Grandma's Attic was also accepted to the Maryland Federation of Arts juried exhibition in Annapolis, MD, April 2010. It was hung at the Circle Gallery. The juror was Will Scott from the Smithsonian National Gallery.

Leftover scraps of watercolor paper and gauze were used to create the texture in Galaxy. The paper scraps and gauze were glued to a stretched canvas with a 3/4" wrap, which was then painted with acrylic paint. Finally the canvas was adhered to a canvas board.
